Jestem Jupiter, pan wszystkich byków,
Król bogów,
a ty, Europo, jesteś kontynentem
pełnym nieodkrytych krain.
Jego wzrok wędrował,
przemierzał jej pola bez granic,

Moniza Alvi, urodziła się w Pakistanie, dorastała w angielskim Hertfordshire. Przez wiele lat pracowała jako nauczycielka w londyńskiej szkole średniej. Obecnie mieszka w Wymondham w hrabstwie Norfolk, zawodowo zajmując się nauczaniem akademickim i pisaniem. Jej ostatnie publikacje to książka poetycka At the Time of Partition (wyd. Bloodaxe Books, 2013), tłumaczenie francuskiej poezji autorstwa Julesa Supervielle’a Homesick for the Earth (wyd. Bloodaxe Books, 2011), Europa (wyd. Bloodaxe Books, 2008); oraz Split World: Wybór wierszy 1990-2005 (wyd. Bloodaxe Books, 2008), obejmujący twórczość z pięciu poprzednich tomów: The Country at My Shoulder (1993), A Bowl of Warm Air (1996), Carrying My Wife (2000), Souls (2002) i How the Stone Found Its Voice (2005). Tomik The Country at My Shoulder był nominowany do nagród: T.S. Eliota oraz Whitbread za twórczość poetycką; natomiast Europa do nagrody T.S. Eliota. Moniza Alvi otrzymała również nagrodę Cholmondeley w 2002 roku. Publikacja At the Time of Partition została wyróżniona przez stowarzyszenie Poetry Book Society oraz nominowana do nagrody T.S. Moniza Alvi was born in Pakistan and grew up in Hertfordshire. After working for many years as a secondary school teacher in London, she is now a freelance writer and tutor, and lives in Wymondham, Norfolk. Her latest books are At the Time of Partition (Bloodaxe Books, 2013), her new book-length poem; Homesick for the Earth, her versions of the French poet Jules Supervielle (Bloodaxe Books, 2011); Europa (Bloodaxe Books, 2008); and Split World: Poems 1990-2005 (Bloodaxe Books, 2008), which includes poems from her five previous collections,The Country at My Shoulder (1993), A Bowl of Warm Air (1996), Carrying My Wife (2000), Souls (2002) and How the Stone Found Its Voice (2005). The Country at My Shoulder was shortlisted for the T.S. Eliot and Whitbread poetry prizes, and Carrying My Wife was a Poetry Book Society Recommendation. Europa was shortlisted for the T.S. Eliot Prize. Moniza Alvi received a Cholmondeley Award in 2002. At the Time of Partition was a Poetry Book Society Choice and was shortlisted for the 2013 T. S. Eliot Prize. Renata Senktas, urodziła się w 1979 roku, poetka, tłumaczka. Wiersze i przekłady publikowała m.in. w „Czasie Kultury”, „Kwartalniku Artystycznym”, „Literaturze na świecie”, „Faultline” i „Cleaves Journal”. Renata Senktas, born in 1979, poet and translator. Her work has appeared in many journals, including Czas Kultury, Kwartalnik Artystyczny, Literatura na świecie, Faultline and Cleaves Journal.
